The Practice
Working primarily in oil painting, Pink Fink Studios explores the Australian environment through colour, texture and movement. From expansive landscapes and coastal seascapes to figurative and animal-based works, each piece captures a distinct sense of place and atmosphere.
The studio’s approach balances traditional painting techniques with a contemporary perspective—creating artworks that are both visually striking and conceptually grounded. Each work is developed through layered processes, allowing depth, energy and character to emerge through the surface of the canvas.
The Artist
Rory Fink is a Melbourne-based artist with a background in fine art, having completed a Bachelor of Arts at RMIT University.
His work has been exhibited nationally, including solo exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney, and featured in a range of group exhibitions and curated shows.
Rory Fink has been recognised as a finalist in several respected art prizes and has undertaken artist residencies, reflecting the ongoing development and recognition of his practice within the Australian art landscape.
Philosophy
At its core, Pink Fink Studios is driven by a commitment to creating original, enduring artworks that engage with the Australian environment in a meaningful way.
Rather than simply depicting a scene, each painting aims to interpret and reimagine its subject—capturing not only what is seen, but what is felt.
